It is not a repeat of the entire SEE. You only appear in the subjects where you got NG. All other subject results stay exactly the same on your marksheet. The format, timing, and syllabus are the same as the main SEE exam.
After you pass the grade increment exam in your NG subjects, NEB updates your marksheet with the new grades. You can then join Plus 2 colleges using the updated result.
The grade increment exam is different from the retotaling and rechecking process. Retotaling and rechecking review your existing marks. The grade increment exam is a fresh exam in the subject where you failed to meet the minimum threshold.
Who Can Apply for SEE Grade Increment Exam 2082?
Students who obtained a minimum grade of D or above in all other subjects in the theoretical part and received NG in a maximum of two subjects can appear in the grade increment examination. Students who were absent in a maximum of two subjects can also apply.
So the eligibility is clear. You must have passed all other subjects with at least D grade. You can have NG in a maximum of two subjects to qualify for the grade increment exam.
If you got NG in more than two subjects, you are not eligible for the grade increment exam. In that case you need to appear in the main SEE exam again next year as a partial student, retaking only the subjects where you got NG.
Students whose exam results were cancelled for disciplinary reasons are not allowed to participate in the grade increment exam.
When Is the SEE Grade Increment Exam 2082?
NEB has not yet announced the official schedule for the SEE 2082 grade increment exam. The result was published on May 12, 2026, and the official notice will be published on neb.gov.np and see.gov.np within the coming weeks.
Based on past years the pattern is consistent. The SEE supplementary exam for 2081 started on Shrawan 29, 2082 and ended on Bhadra 16, 2082. In English calendar dates that was mid-July to early August 2025. The exam was conducted from 8 AM to 11 AM.
Following the same pattern, the SEE 2082 grade increment exam is expected around Shrawan to Bhadra 2083, which is July to August 2026. The exam is typically held in the morning from 8 AM to 11 AM.

How to Apply for SEE Grade Increment Exam 2082
The application process goes through your school. You cannot apply directly online by yourself for the grade increment exam.
First download your official gradesheet from see.ntc.net.np. You need this as part of your application. The examination application form can be downloaded from the website of the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Class 10 at see.gov.np. Your school may also provide the form directly.
Fill the application form completely and correctly. Write your name, symbol number, school details, and the specific subjects you need to appear in. Double check everything before submitting.
Deposit NPR 500 in revenue account number 14223 at a designated bank. Keep the payment voucher. Submit the filled application form along with the fee voucher, a copy of your admit card, and your downloaded gradesheet through your school to the Education Development and Coordination Unit.
Your school collects all application forms from students and submits everything to the Education Development and Coordination Unit by the official deadline. For SEE 2081, the application deadline was Shrawan 16, 2082. A similar deadline of around Shrawan 16, 2083 which is roughly early July 2026 is expected for the 2082 grade increment exam.
Do not miss the deadline. No extensions are given. Once the deadline passes, your application cannot be accepted.
What Is the Fee for SEE Grade Increment Exam 2082?
The fee is NPR 500 per student, deposited in revenue account number 14223. This is not per subject. It is a flat fee of NPR 500 regardless of whether you are appearing in one or two subjects.
Pay at any government authorized bank. Keep the payment receipt and submit it with your application form. No payment receipt means no application.
This fee is separate from the retotaling fee. If you applied for retotaling at NPR 500 per subject, that is a separate payment. The grade increment exam application fee is its own separate NPR 500 payment.
Where Is the SEE Grade Increment Exam Held?
The grade increment exam is not held at your own school. NEB assigns separate exam centers for the grade increment exam, just like the main SEE exam.
Information regarding examination centers will be provided by the concerned Education Development and Coordination Units. After you apply, your school will receive exam center details from the Education Development and Coordination Unit and pass them on to you. You may also receive a new admit card or updated information sheet with your assigned exam center name and address.
Arrive at your exam center at least 15 minutes before the exam starts. Do not bring your mobile phone or any electronic device. No alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who do not appear for the examination as per the specified center and schedule. Missing the exam at your assigned center means you lose your chance for that year.
What Subjects Can You Appear in for the Grade Increment Exam?
You can only appear in the subjects where you received NG in the main SEE 2082 exam. You cannot choose to retake a subject where you got D grade hoping to improve it. The grade increment exam is strictly for NG subjects only.
Students appearing in only one subject must appear on the first day of the examination. For students taking two subjects, the subject with the lower code number is taken on the first day. However, for students taking both Compulsory Nepali (0021) and Compulsory English (0041), English (0041) is taken on the first day and Nepali (0021) on the second day.
Know your subject codes before the exam. Subject codes are printed on your marksheet. Compulsory Nepali is 0021. Compulsory English is 0041. Other subjects have their own codes. The schedule is based on these codes so knowing yours helps you understand which day you appear.
What to Bring on SEE Grade Increment Exam Day
Bring your admit card or the updated exam center information sheet issued after your grade increment application is processed. Bring any required materials specific to your subject such as graph paper, charts, or log tables if relevant. Bring a pen, pencil, and other stationery you need.
Do not bring mobile phones, smart watches, or any electronic devices. They are not allowed in the exam hall.
Reach your assigned exam center at least 15 minutes before the exam start time of 8 AM. The exam runs until 11 AM. Even if there is an unexpected public holiday, the exam will not be postponed unless NEB officially announces a postponement through see.gov.np.
What Happens If You Pass the Grade Increment Exam?
After the grade increment exam, NEB publishes the results within a few weeks. If you pass the subjects where you had NG, your marksheet is updated with the new grades.
The new grades replace the NG on your official marksheet. NEB issues an updated marksheet which is accepted by all Plus 2 colleges across Nepal. You can then join Plus 2 in the late admission cycle that follows the grade increment result.
Most Plus 2 colleges in Nepal have a dedicated late admission window specifically for students who cleared their NG through the grade increment exam. Contact your preferred colleges after the grade increment result to check their late admission deadline and requirements.
What Happens If You Fail the Grade Increment Exam?
If you do not pass the grade increment exam in your NG subjects, you have two main options.
You can appear in the main SEE exam again next year as a partial student. This means you retake only the subjects where you still have NG. All other subjects where you already have D grade or above are carried forward and you do not retake those.
You can also explore CTEVT technical diploma programs. Some CTEVT programs have more flexible admission timelines and requirements. A 3-year diploma in fields like civil engineering, computer engineering, hotel management, or pharmacy leads to real employment without requiring fully cleared SEE results in all cases.

Can You Apply for Retotaling and Grade Increment Exam at the Same Time?
Yes. Retotaling and the grade increment exam are completely separate processes. Applying for one does not prevent you from applying for the other.
If you have NG in a subject, it is smart to apply for retotaling first to check if there was a calculation error that caused the NG. If retotaling corrects the error and your grade changes, you may not need the grade increment exam at all.
But do not wait only for the retotaling result before deciding about the grade increment exam. The grade increment exam application deadline comes quickly after the result. Apply for the grade increment exam while also applying for retotaling to protect your options.
If retotaling changes your NG to a passing grade, you can withdraw from the grade increment exam. If retotaling does not change anything, you are already registered for the grade increment exam and can prepare for it.

How to Prepare for the SEE Grade Increment Exam
You have roughly 2 months between the main result and the grade increment exam. That is enough time to prepare properly for one or two subjects if you are consistent.
First go through your previous exam papers and practice tests to understand which topics cost you the most marks. Do not try to study everything equally. Focus on the high mark areas first.
Get your NEB class 10 textbooks for the subject and go through each chapter. SEE questions follow predictable patterns. Practicing past question papers from the last 3 to 5 years is one of the most effective strategies.

The minimum passing mark is 35 out of 100 in theory. That is 35 percent. With focused preparation over 2 months, reaching 35 marks is very achievable for most students.
