How to Check CTEVT Result Online (2026) Grading System and Certificates

Your CTEVT result for 2026 is available online at the official ITMS portal, itms.ctevt.org.np, by entering your symbol number and date of birth. CTEVT uses a percentage based division system where 75 percent and above is Distinction, 60 to 74 percent is First Division, 45 to 59 percent is Second Division, and 35 to 44 percent is Pass. Minimum pass mark for diploma programs is 40 percent in both theory and practical. Official certificates are issued by the Controller of Examinations at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur within 7 working days after you apply.

How to Check CTEVT Result Online

Checking your CTEVT result online is simple. You just need your symbol number and the date of birth you used when registering for the exam.

First, open your browser and go to itms.ctevt.org.np. On this page, look for the section that says Check Results or View Results. You will see some dropdown menus and input boxes.

Select your exam year from the dropdown. The exam year on the CTEVT portal is in Nepali calendar, called Bikram Sambat or BS. For 2026 results, the year would be 2082 or 2083 BS depending on when your exam was held.

Next, select your program level. You will choose either Pre Diploma or Diploma and PCL. PCL stands for Proficiency Certificate Level which is the same as the health diploma programs like Nursing, General Medicine, and Pharmacy.

After that, choose your specific program from the list. This could be something like Diploma in Civil Engineering or PCL in Nursing depending on what you studied.

Now enter your symbol number. This is also called your exam roll number. You can find it on your admit card or your exam registration slip. Enter it exactly as printed with no extra spaces.

Then enter your date of birth in BS format. The format is year first, then month, then day. Write it as four digit year, two digit month, and two digit day separated by forward slashes. For example, if you were born on 15 Asoj 2058, write 2058/06/15.

Click Submit or Check Result. Your result and marksheet will appear on screen. You can save it as a PDF by pressing Ctrl and P together on your keyboard, then choosing Save as PDF instead of printing.

Where to Check CTEVT Results

The main place to check your CTEVT result is the official ITMS portal at itms.ctevt.org.np. This is the portal managed by CTEVT’s Controller of Examinations office in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

If the main portal is slow or not loading because many students are checking at the same time, you can also look at your provincial CTEVT office website. Each province has its own CTEVT site where they publish PDF files of results. For Bagmati province, this is ctevtbagmati.org.np. For Gandaki province, it is ctevtgandaki.org.np. For Koshi province, check ctevtkoshi.org.np. For Madhesh province, try ctevtp2.org.np. For Lumbini province, go to ctevtp5.org.np. For Karnali province, check ctevtkarnali.org.np. For Sudurpaschim province, try ctevtsppo.org.np.

On these provincial sites, look for a section called Results or Notices. You can download the PDF file for your program and use Ctrl and F on your keyboard to search for your symbol number inside the file.

You should only use official CTEVT websites. Do not use unofficial websites or random Facebook links claiming to show CTEVT results. Those sites may show wrong information or even try to steal your personal details.

Information Required to Check Your Result

Before you open the portal, gather these four things so the process is quick and smooth.

Your symbol number is the most important piece of information. It is also called your exam roll number. This number is printed on your admit card which the exam center gave you before the exam. It is also on your exam registration slip. If you cannot find either document, contact your college or institute and they should be able to tell you your symbol number.

Your date of birth in BS format is the second thing you need. Remember to write it in the year, month, day format in Nepali calendar, not the English calendar year. Many students make the mistake of entering their English calendar year here and then wonder why their result is not found.

Your exam year is the third thing. Know which BS year your exam was held in. For most students checking in 2026, this will be 2082 or 2083 BS.

Your program level is the fourth thing. Know whether you are searching for a Pre Diploma result or a Diploma and PCL result. Pre Diploma programs are the shorter 18 month programs. Diploma and PCL programs are the 3 year programs.

Understanding the CTEVT Grading System

CTEVT uses a percentage based system to grade students. This is different from the NEB system that school students use, which gives letter grades like A+ or B+. CTEVT shows your result as a division based on your total percentage.

The divisions work like this. If you scored 75 percent or more, you get Distinction. This is the highest category and means you performed excellently. If you scored between 60 and 74 percent, you get First Division. This means above average performance. If you scored between 45 and 59 percent, you get Second Division. This is a satisfactory pass. If you scored between 35 and 44 percent, you get a Pass which is sometimes called Third Division. This is the lowest passing category.

If you scored below 35 percent in any subject, you get a Fail or Not Graded result for that subject.

For some newer CTEVT programs that have switched to a letter grading system, grades work similarly to NEB.

• A+ = 90% or above (GPA 4.0)
• A = 80–89% (GPA 3.6)
• B+ = 70–79% (GPA 3.2)
• B = 60–69% (GPA 2.8)
• C+ = 50–59% (GPA 2.4)
• C = 40–49% (GPA 2.0)

A+ means 90 percent or above with a GPA of 4.0. A means 80 to 89 percent with a GPA of 3.6. B+ means 70 to 79 percent with a GPA of 3.2. B means 60 to 69 percent with a GPA of 2.8. C+ means 50 to 59 percent with a GPA of 2.4. C means 40 to 49 percent with a GPA of 2.0.

For most diploma programs, you need at least 40 percent in both the theory part and the practical part to pass each subject. You also need to pass the internal assessment part. All three parts need to be passed separately.

CTEVT does not calculate an overall GPA and print it on your result. Instead it shows your percentage and division. If a form somewhere asks you for a GPA and you only have a CTEVT percentage, a rough way to estimate is to divide your percentage by 25. So if you got 75 percent, you would say your GPA is approximately 3.0. This is not an official CTEVT formula but many students and employers use this estimate.

What Do Your Grades Mean?

Your CTEVT grade or division tells you how well you performed compared to the pass mark and the full marks.

Distinction, which is 75 percent or above, means you did really well. You clearly understood your subjects and did strong work in both theory and practical. This is the result that opens the best doors for government technical jobs, further study, and going abroad for work.

First Division, which is 60 to 74 percent, means you performed above the average required standard. This is a solid result and is respected by employers and universities for further study.

Second Division, which is 45 to 59 percent, means you passed satisfactorily. You met the required standards. Most job and further study options are still open to you.

Pass or Third Division, which is 35 to 44 percent, means you just barely passed. While this is a valid pass, some competitive jobs and higher study programs may prefer students with higher divisions.

Fail or Not Graded means you did not reach the minimum required mark in that subject. You will need to appear for a back exam or supplementary exam to clear that subject. You have up to six years from when you first enrolled to clear all failed subjects through the back exam system.

If any subject shows as Withheld on your result, it means CTEVT has held back that result for a specific reason. This could be because of a registration problem or a missing document. You need to contact your college or the CTEVT exam office to sort it out.

What to Do If You Cannot Find Your Result

The most common reason your result does not appear is a small error in what you entered. Before panicking, check everything again.

Make sure your symbol number is exactly correct. Even one wrong digit will cause a result not found error. Check your admit card carefully. Look at each digit.

Make sure your date of birth is in the right format and in the Nepali calendar year. Many students enter their English calendar birth year by mistake. If you were born in 2002 in English calendar, your BS year is approximately 2059. Enter 2059, not 2002.

Make sure you selected the right program level. If you studied a pre diploma course but selected Diploma and PCL on the portal, your result will not appear.

Make sure you selected the correct exam year. If your exam was in late 2082 BS but you selected 2083 BS, the system will not find you.

If all your details are correct but the result is still not showing, it is possible that CTEVT has not uploaded that particular result yet. Check the CTEVT website for notices about when that specific program’s result was published.

If the portal itself is very slow or showing an error message, it is usually because too many students are trying to check at the same time. This happens a lot on the day results are first published. Try again a few hours later or late at night when traffic is lower.

If you see your result listed as Absent for a subject you definitely attended, contact your college immediately. Your college can check with CTEVT and help sort out the record.

How to Apply for Result Correction or Retotaling

If you feel your marks in a subject are wrong or were added incorrectly, CTEVT has a retotaling process. Whether retotaling is open after your specific result and the exact steps depend on the official CTEVT announcement that comes out with or shortly after each result. Always check the official CTEVT website for the current notice.

In general, the process works like this. You need to apply within about 21 days of when the result was published. Missing this window means you cannot apply for that exam cycle.

For diploma and PCL level programs, the retotaling fee is approximately NPR 500 per subject. For pre diploma programs, it is approximately NPR 300 per subject. You pay one subject at a time.

To apply online for retotaling, go to the CTEVT exam website and look for the retotaling request section. Enter your registration number and date of birth and search your details. Select the exam year and semester and tick the subject you want rechecked. Verify all your information. Complete the security check and click Proceed for Payment. Pay via ConnectIPS online. After payment is done, download the payment bill immediately before closing the browser. This bill is your proof that you applied.

If you prefer to apply offline because you do not have easy internet access, you can fill in a written retotaling application form at the CTEVT office or at your college. Attach a copy of your admit card or marksheet and a copy of the payment receipt from the bank. Submit this to the Controller of Examinations office at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur or to your provincial CTEVT exam section.

Retotaling results usually come out about three weeks after the application deadline. Check the portal again around that time. If your marks changed, the updated result will be visible on the portal.

For corrections to your personal information on your result or certificate, such as a wrong name spelling or wrong date of birth, contact your college first. Your college can help you submit a correction request to the CTEVT Controller of Examinations at info@ctevtexam.org.np.

How to Get Your CTEVT Marksheet and Certificate

The result you see on the ITMS portal is for reference only. It is not the official document that employers and universities accept. Your official documents come separately.

Your marksheet is the first official document. After results are published, the CTEVT Controller of Examinations sends official printed marksheets to your college or institute. Your college then distributes these to students. Go to your college after results are out and ask when they will distribute marksheets. If you have already passed all your years and graduated, the final comprehensive marksheet is issued by CTEVT after you apply for it.

If you need a duplicate copy of your marksheet, you can get one from the Controller of Examinations office at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. The fee for a diploma or PCL level marksheet copy is NPR 200 and it is usually processed the same day.

Your diploma certificate or PCL certificate is the final official document that shows you completed your program. You get this from the Controller of Examinations office at Sanothimi after applying in person. You can also get it from certain provincial CTEVT offices now that CTEVT has decentralized certificate distribution. The provincial offices that issue certificates are in Itahari for Koshi Province, Janakpur for Madhesh Province, Hetauda for Bagmati Province, Pokhara for Gandaki Province, Butwal for Lumbini Province, Surkhet for Karnali Province, and Dhangadi for Sudurpaschim Province.

To get your certificate you need to bring some documents. Bring your original SLC or SEE certificate and a photocopy. Bring your CTEVT registration slip and a photocopy. Bring your CTEVT marksheet if you already received it. Bring your citizenship certificate and passport size photos.

Fill in the certificate application form at the office. Pay the certificate fee, which is approximately NPR 1,010 for an original diploma or PCL certificate. The office will give you an acknowledgement slip. Come back after about 7 working days to collect your certificate. Before you leave the office, check your certificate carefully. Make sure your name, date of birth, program name, and all other details are correct. If anything is wrong, report it immediately before you walk out.

If you need an official transcript, the fee for a diploma or PCL level transcript is NPR 420 and processing takes about 3 working days. If you apply for a transcript within 35 days of receiving your original certificate, the fee is waived.

If you lost your certificate, you can apply for a duplicate. You will need to bring a police report for the lost document along with all the standard documents. The fee for a duplicate certificate is approximately NPR 1,020 and processing takes about 7 working days.

Starting in December 2025, CTEVT certificates now have a QR code printed on them. When someone scans this QR code with their phone, it takes them to an online verification page where they can confirm your certificate is real. This makes it much easier for employers, universities, and foreign credential evaluation agencies to verify your CTEVT qualification.

If an employer or university wants to verify your certificate by email, they can send a verification request to ctevt verification at ctevtexam.org.np. They should include your name, your exam roll number, and your certificate number in the email.
