What Are CTEVT Courses After SEE?

CTEVT organizes its post SEE programs into distinct levels based on duration, depth, and the minimum academic standing required to enter.

Short term vocational courses run from a few weeks to approximately one year and focus on specific trade skills. These are often subsidized by the government and designed for immediate workforce entry without requiring a minimum SEE GPA.

Pre Diploma and TSLC programs, where TSLC stands for Technical School Leaving Certificate, run typically 15 to 18 months, with some programs extending to 24 months including on the job training. These programs admit SEE appeared students with no minimum GPA requirement, meaning students who took the SEE exam are eligible even before results are published or if their results did not meet a GPA floor. They produce junior technicians and prepare students for diploma level study.

Diploma programs are the three year pathway that produces mid level technically qualified graduates recognized for government technical service positions at Level 5 under Nepal’s public service classification. These programs require passing SEE with a minimum GPA, which differs between health and non health streams.

CTEVT Diploma Courses After SEE

Diploma and PCL programs run three years. This is consistent across all fields including engineering, health, agriculture, and management. The three year period includes classroom instruction, laboratory or workshop practice, and a structured on the job training or clinical internship component depending on the field. Health PCL programs including General Medicine and Staff Nursing include clinical rotations in approved health facilities as a mandatory requirement for completing the program.

Pre Diploma and TSLC programs run 15 to 18 months as the standard. Some programs extend to 24 months depending on the trade and the volume of on the job training required by the specific curriculum. TSLC in ANM is one example where the OJT component can extend the program toward 18 to 20 months depending on placement availability.

How to Choose the Right CTEVT Course
